Good-bye, Cub Scouts....Hello, Boy Scouts!

Jacob was beyond excited to go to his first boy scout meeting.  They were getting ready for a camp out the next weekend so he needed to bring his pack all ready to be checked off.  I know that his scout shirt looks a little large but those things are expensive and he's only getting 1!  He's obviously got some room to grow.

Here's Jake and Wyatt before they left.

Just a few days later Jake went off on his 1st boy scout camporee.  The weather was a little strange that weekend and it was super cold and snowy where they were camping.  I couldn't hardly sleep that night worried sick my baby was cold (which he was!) but he came home and said he had a blast (right after he said how cold he was the whole time!)  The next day at church his scout leaders came up to me and said how great Jacob did on the campout and that they had to keep telling him to put his jacket on since he was running around in just his shirt.  That could explain why he was cold the whole time??  He came home only missing a couple of things which for Jacob is fantastic.  That kid would lose his head if it wasn't attached!  We still love him :)

The highest award you can receive in Cub Scouts is the Arrow of Light and Jacob was able to receive that in April.  Our stake does such a great job of making this event so special and I'm so grateful because it gets the younger boys excited to receive it themselves.

Before the ceremony started Jacob was working on some flint with the ceremony leader to get the fire going.

Josh was of course adorable and out of control throughout the whole thing.

Jacob was scared to poke me putting on the mother's pin but he did great!  No pokage.

This is Jacob getting ready to walk across the bridge to retrieve his arrow that was shot to the other side.

We're so lucky that grandma was able to come out and see Jacob receive his award.

Congratulations, Jacob!  We are so proud of you and all the hard work you put in to get your Arrow of Light.
And now I turn the scouting over to Doug!
