Well, my friend Jen decided she's ready to get something else started (since she's the big organizer on all the fun activities around here)and put together a girls flag football team in our ward and got her friend to organize one in a neighboring ward so we could match up. After 2 practices, we had our first game yesterday and we came away the victors!!! Thanks to our great coaches, Chad and Jason, who taught us all the football mumbo jumbo like base right, fake reverse, sweep left, stop and go, etc. we were ready to take 'em down. I somehow became the quarterback after throwing it once the first practice and I was sick to my stomach before the game.
We intercepted the first throw of the game and it was pretty much our game from there. OK, they did score once and one lady totally body checked me (weren't we playing FLAG football?), we came away with 3 touchdowns and I got an interception! It was so much fun. It took me back to when I played intramurals at BYU with my friends Beckie and Cecia. Good times.
I had some raspberries on my knees and some bruises on my legs and basically am totally sore but it was so worth it. We play another ward next month and we'll be ready for them too!
The fun football weekend didn't stop there. We came home and had to watch some college games and here are 3 of my boys entranced in the game. Jacob has become obsessed with football and learning the game. He's excited to play flag football in the spring.
Riley didn't want to miss in the fun so this is how she blocks, she told me. I guess we're a football family now. Heaven help us.

Ah, the memories! I'm not surprised they made you the Qback - you've got an arm! Way to keep the spirit alive - and way to be playing football so fast! Don't you breathe after having a baby? C'mon you're making me look bad! LYG!
Soooooooo much fun! Can't wait to play again. Let's seriously go run passes at lunch with the boys! This is serious.
Btw- you were awesome out there! Star QB! :)
You were a stud! I had so much fun but am still feeling the effects - my body reminds me of our kick butt win every step I take!
Kristen - thanks for the shoutout! We did have SO MUCH FUN!!! Ah the glory days! ... makes me want to sing 'Celebration' from the top of my lungs!
You are making me jealous - playing flag football with the ladies - my ward will take your ward on any day of the week ... next time you are in Virginia - you are ON!!!!
Thanks for the fun read!
Kristen - you stud! That is so awesome! Your kiddos are so adorable. I love the smile pics of your newest little guy. You need to change the stuff at the top of your page though - it says you have 3 kids. Love checking your family out to see what you are up to. Have a great Thanksgiving! Stef.
