Along with roller skating during spring break, we also took the opportunity of a couple warm days to hit the beach. Josh wasn't such a good age last year for the beach and I have high hopes for this year. I'm happy to say that he LOVES the beach! I'm sad to say that I don't have a picture of him in his cute bathing suit but the Easter bunny brought that a week later in his basket :)
He went right to sleep on my shoulder and slept for a good 45 minutes and I could actually just sit and talk to my friends. Heaven!
Ryan found this crab either on the beach or in the water. I'm not quite sure. But he was a real superstar with our big group for the rest of the day. I was a big sucker and let him bring it home (to show Dad of course!) but it's now bye-bye. Ryan seems to find all sorts of insects and animals. Kinda like this one over our back fence......
This rat (kindly named "CJ" by Ryan) injured its foot or something because it didn't really run away very quickly from Ryan and Jake. They begged me to take a picture which I did quickly through the fence. I made them both come back inside and scrub their hands for 10 minutes in hot water. Did I forget to mention that Ryan caught the rat in a bucket and was playing with it?? Nice.
Jacob did his 4th grade California Mission powerpoint project on the San Luis Rey Mission in Oceanside so we took a little field trip down there to see all the stuff he learned about.
Ryan and Jake took a walk around the Lavenderia where they would wash their clothes. Riley was in a foul mood and is hiding behind the flowers on the right. You can see her pink shirt.
We also enjoyed Easter Sunday during our Spring Break which just so happened to be on Conference Sunday. We were able to have "jammie church" as we call it and watch General Conference on television. Isn't Josh just the cutest? He sees a camera and automatically gets the biggest cheeser smile. Love. Him.
The kids each found their baskets after they woke up and spent the day wearing their new flip-flops, eating all things hard-boiled eggs, and eating their chocolate bunnies.
Since Easter Sunday was General Conference, we got to dress up in our Easter-Sunday-Best the next Sunday. Doug and I each got our own picture with the kids (only because there was no one to take it of all of us!).
Now we're gearing up for summer vacation...........We've got some big plans :)
