It's Official

It's totally official, legit, proven, a done deal. My 6 month old baby has finally rolled over. I know, he's waaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of the game, but that's how we roll in this family. Total overachievers.

I put Josh down for his nap Monday morning on his stomach because I learned after much trial and error that he will NOT sleep longer than 5 minutes on anything other than his tummy. So, he's a belly sleeper. Call me a bad mom for not joining the "back to sleep" campaign with this kid but we all finally got some sleep around here when we made up our own slogan: "back to the belly to get some much needed sleep".

Sorry. I digress.

So I hear Josh playing after his nap and I go in to get him up. Lo and behold! He was on his back! I know for absolute sure that no one could've rolled him over because I was a super good mommy that morning and played polly pockets with Riley and then she watched some pbs kids shows while I mopped the floor. She was ALWAYS in my sights or else I would've suspected her of the flipping over. I wouldn't of been able to just ask her if she rolled him over or not to to make absolute sure Josh did it himself because I have a 4 year old that likes to "tell stories" aka lie.

So you see, it's official. My little baby CAN roll over. He's done it a few times since then that we could see with our own eyes. It's hard though when he rolls over to his back before he falls asleep because no matter how long I let him "cry it out", that little bugger will not fall asleep on his own. I have to flip him back over to his belly.

Sidenote: it's so fun to have him on his belly with his spit up problem. Heaven help our carpet now.

Seriously...Ella refuses to fall asleep on her own, I've tried the whole cry it out thing and she screamed for two hours one night, holy heck girl!!!

Sometimes you have to go against convention to get results. What an awesome kid!
