Joshua Edward arrives!

On our way to the hospital

Right before we came home (sorry out of order)

Right after birth (he's blue from bruises and lack of oxygen during labor)

Our new little baby arrived Sunday evening at 10:00. He weighed in at 8 pounds 5 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. We came to the hospital at 9:30 that morning and by 7:00 that night the dr was growing more concerned because baby's heart rate was dipping dramatically with each contraction. I tried 1 last position change to try to ease up where the chord was caught. It seemed to work so they upped the pitocin to get harder contractions going and when he finally came out they could see the chord was around his neck so they rushed to get him breathing cuz he was pretty blue. He perked up after a minute or so and all was well. He had significant bruising that's pretty much gone now. He is a great baby and pretty adorable, if you ask me! Now, if I can just get a little more sleep I'd be a happy camper. Doug's mom comes Monday to help which will be nice. Thanks to all for their well wishes, visits, calls, meals, and support. I have the greatest friends and family! A special thanks to Chantel and Janine for taking my kids Sunday to Monday while I was in labor. How can I repay you? I'll have to think more how to do that:)

Glad to hear things went well (after the scare) - CONGRATULATIONS! He looks like he goes with the family (I think all of your kids look like Childs!) Best of luck with four - you have my compassion as I'm trying to navigate through it myself. Welcome, baby JOSH!

KONNICHIWA!
i have been wanting to call you since i got the update from mom. everytime i get a free moment while here in JAPAN i do the math in my head to figure out the time in california and it's the middle of the night for you. considering you are in lack of sleep mode i thought it would be wise not to call.

SHUUGI! i can't wait to meet my newest nephew. JA MATA! SAYONARA!
