I've been waiting until I had some pictures to post so it wouldn't be so boring, but again my camera is lame and all my pictures from the summer are on Doug's camera. Since I'm too tired at night to blog, it just hasn't been done. Anyway, considering we're only 2 1/2 weeks away from school starting, I guess I should let you all what we've been up to and put pictures on later.
We took a trip to Utah over the July 4th weekend for Doug's family reunion. We had the luxury of sleeping in tents in his brother's backyard which the kids totally enjoyed. Notice I said "the kids" enjoyed that part. I'll just leave it at that. Anyway, it was fun to catch up with his family and all the nieces and nephews. It was pretty hot and my ankles swelled up triple their normal size, but someone had to take one for the team, right? On the 4th we went to the Toelle Rodeo which was our first rodeo experience. Riley didn't like them roping the poor little lambs and calves but everything else was exciting. It wouldn't be a Utah family reunion for us without someone getting sick and that happened to be Ryan this year. All day Saturday he had a super high fever and so he couldn't go to the water park in town. I had to sacrifice and stay next to him in the nice, quiet, cool house to tend to all his needs like a good mother should :) We left Sunday morning and drove to St. George to swim and relax at the hotel and then woke up Monday morning to come home.
For the rest of the summer we've been busy going to the beach each week with people in our ward which the kids LOVE. It's so much more fun for them to play with a bunch of kids because then they're not asking for food every 10 seconds. We've gone to the pool tons, the library to receive their weekly summer prizes, visited the OC to see friends and family, and basically have lots of fun. I'll be sad when school starts because then my daily activity of watching the kids play at the beach or pool while I sit in my chair and talk to my friends will be done. So sad. All good things must come to an end, I guess.
This weekend will be a first for Doug and I. We're celebrating our 10 year anniversary next weekend and we'll be in Washington visiting his parents. SO, we get to have our very first weekend get away (minus children) together!!!! Can you believe it's taken us 10 years? We're going to Vegas, a nice cool place to go in the summer, and relax. I'm VERY excited. We're going to see The Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian and then just play and eat a lot :)
Well, that's about it for now. I'll have pictures to post soon (hopefully). We're also in the single digit countdown until our baby boy comes which is exciting. Hope your summers are going well and you're having tons of fun!!!
