Ryan was awarded with the Student of the Month award for April and was so excited. He didn't know he was getting the award and when they called his name he bounced right up and was looking in the crowd for me. It was so sweet when his eyes found me because he had the hugest smile on his face. He told me he got the award because he's been doing really well on his journal lately in class and writing 3 sentences and drawing good pictures. Good job, Ryan!
We were also able to meet up with our good friends from Washington at Disneyland one Saturday while they were here on vacation. Doug grew up with both of them and was roommates with Bryan. We got married within a couple months of each other and had kids that matched up in ages too. We loved hanging out with them at BYU and then sadly we went to California after graduation and they went back to Washington. Jacob and their son Max would hang out as babies and always pick up right where they left off whenever they see each other (as you can see above). This was a special visit because their daughter, Mara, who matches up in age with Ryan, is battling a brain tumor and we got to enjoy some fun time together even amidst their struggle. You can read about Mara's fight against cancer on her website and the link to that is on the right of my blog. We felt so inspired by their family during our visit because they have such faith and hope that whatever is supposed to happen will be ok as long as they do all they can for Mara. I look up to my friend Heather (Mara's mother) so much and she is truly an angel on earth. We continue to pray for Mara and her family.

I miss you guys so much. Every time I read your blog and see pictures of your kids I miss you all so much. I am sorry that I have not been commenting like a real friend should but you know I love you. By the way you are the prettiest pregnant woman ever.
It is sweet to see little Mara, and even though I don't know her I sure love her.
