Ryan was baptized on January 2nd. He was so excited for this day to come and so were Doug and I. Ryan was the only one being baptized that day so he got to choose everything for his program.
He asked his Grandma Ruthi to give the talk about "baptism" and wanted me to give the talk about the "holy ghost". I was really emotional that whole day because there is just something about Ryan that is different. I seem to worry more about him and what his choices will be in the future and was just trying to capture the joy that I felt in that moment seeing my son being baptized by his father.
Ryan, Jacob, Riley, and their cousins Kira and Carollyn all sang "Baptism" and did such a beautiful job. Ryan was kinda nervous as it was time to go to the font to be baptized and he usually shows his nervousness with being goofy. After he was immersed in the water, he dunked his head under, flipped it up really quickly to spike it up, and strutted himself out of the font. Gotta love that guy!
It was a beautiful day for our family and we're so grateful for those that came out to support Ryan and his choice to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Since his baptism, Ryan has really impressed us with his maturity and knowledge in the Gospel for his age. We love him so much and hope he continues on the right path throughout his life.
