So You Think You Can Dance....Dance......Dance......

I scored big time when Jen informed me her husband Jason was picked for tickets to the performance show of the SYTYCD Finale and she was inviting me!! Yesssssss! Lucky for us another friend in our ward, Kelly, also got tickets and it was going to be 8 friends going to see the show together (technically 7 girlfriends and 1 escort/photographer Jason). I don't think Jason minded too much driving us all around and running all our errands :)

Here are all the backseat drivers on our way to the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.

We got to the Kodak Theatre and picked up our tickets. We were on our way to finding somewhere to eat in the mall right next to the theatre when who do we see buying some shoes? That's right, you SYTYCD fans. We saw the choreographer Sonja and she was kind enough to take a picture with us. She had just come from rehearsing with the dancers and was a little sweaty but being the super fans that we are, didn't mind at all!

So then we're waiting outside California Pizza Kitchen for our name to be called when we recognize a little man outside the shop right in front of us. I say "little man" because Adam Shankman (judge and choreographer) is very short and skinny! He was honestly THE nicest guy. We had our 8 cameras and he seemed to not mind one little bit to take pictures with us. We told him to listen for us yell for him which we dutifully did. I'm sure he heard our specific yells in the theatre of 3,500 people and had a smile on his face for us. Thanks, Adam!

Outside CPK there is a HUGE chaise lounge that is a picture spot for all of the giddy tourists (aka US, the super fans) so we had to take a picture on it.

After lunch we had a couple hours to kill before we needed to be at the theatre for the show so we decided to walk the streets. We hit the Chinese Theatre, the Wax Museum, walked the Hollywood Walk of Fame, I took a picture next to Michael Jackson's Star (where is that picture you took, Jen??), hit H&M, got some frozen yogurt, and then primped for the show.

We got back to the Kodak and returned our cameras to the car. We got inside the theatre and realized that both sets of tickets our group had were pretty much the worst seats in the theatre. We are super fans and knew we deserved better so we were on a mission to find better seats. As the show was getting close to starting, we spotted some open box seats that we went in. We were there for awhile until the ticket holders for the box came and we were kicked out. We ran to the other side of the theatre to the last open box hoping that since the show was starting that we'd be ok. Well, to make a long story short, Jason slipped the usher a certain large bill and we were pretty much left alone to enjoy the show. Two of our group made it to orchestra level seats for the show which was so AWESOME for them!

We had such a great day: laughing, eating, shopping, singing, dancing........Now we have the SYTYCD tour to look forward to in November! Can't wait!

So fun! I would KILL to have gotten those tickets!

I found your blog from a comment on R Max's about how you get those signatures at the bottom of your posts. Just go to her -or my- blog and click directly on the signature, and the site will pop up that will help you to do that. (If you are still interested.) It's super fun. And you can set it up on your blog so that it appears after every post, too.

I'd love for you to stop by my blog sometime. It's always fun to meet new bloggy-friends!
