Jacob had his baptism last Saturday and it was the BEST day. He was really looking forward to his baptism for a long time and couldn't wait for the day to finally come. We are so grateful for all the family and friends that came to support Jacob. We appreciate that many of you traveled a long distance to be there and it made it even more special that you could come. Jacob was baptized with 2 other girls from his primary class. We kind of did a "Grandpa's" theme with 2 grandpa's doing the talks and other ones doing the prayers. My dad did the talk on baptism and did a great job relating to the kids (which he was very nervous about). The 3 children being baptized sang "I Am a Child of God" for the musical number with each child singing a verse solo. Jacob did the 2nd verse and nailed it! They all together signed the chorus which was so sweet to watch. I was pretty emotional through the whole thing. After Jake was baptized and in the locker room, all of us could hear him totally laughing, which is what he does when he gets nervous/excited.
On Sunday was Jacob's first fast Sunday which was a little bit difficult for him. He had a hard time not eating breakfast, but we told him it was his choice to fast or not and he chose to do it. He was pretty proud of himself after church that he made it. Hopefully next month it won't be as traumatic for him.
Also on Sunday, Jacob stood up with Doug to bear his testimony. It took some encouragement, but after the other 2 girls got up there and Doug bribed him with candy (nice Doug), he went up. He was really glad he did it afterward. All in all, it was a great weekend for our family. It's hard to believe I'm a mother of an 8 year old, but I'm sure it'll feel like tomorrow when it's Ryan's turn.
(Side note: it's very difficult for me to post these pictures with me looking like I do right now in this pregnancy, but I had to for posterity's sake. So, I know what you're thinking and I agree!)

Craziness, and you look great okay!!!!!
jacob did a great job singing and signing. he is very brave. it was a special day and i am so glad i was there to witness it.
btw, i finally got the pictures of all of us from the DWTS night and i posted them on my blog.
You look great. Besides it's your last time - embrace it!!
That was a special occasion for all of us too! I don't know if Robert told you this or not but when Jacob was sitting next to him in your backyard - Jacob said to Robert "This is the best day ever" so I have a feeling he was feeling pretty good. Jacob will do well as he learns to be guided by the Spirit in his life. He has always been a sensitive spirit himself. It will be great to see him grow up.
