I hope you all had a great time ringing in the new year. We have had Doug's parents visiting here since right after Christmas and we've had such a great time. Doug and his dad are finishing up the recessed lights in the kitchen today and next week they'll move on to the pendant lights over the island. The countertops are coming Monday (YEAH!!!!!) so we see the finish line with this big project. Yesterday we went down to Old Town San Diego to see the Mormon Battalion museum/movie and then walked to all the Old Town sites. Jacob loved getting dressed up and Ryan wanted nothing to do with any of that. Don't you love his expression in the picture? Anyway, we did have a great time. I can't believe we haven't been down there before now. We definitely want to go back and spend more time and try out some of the restaurants. We were looking forward to eating at Phil's BBQ and were so bummed to find out they're closed until the 22nd! What's up with that? Anyway, we settled for Chili's next door and were very unimpressed. Oh well. We still had a great time together.

Yea! I am the first to post on your blog! Love the pictures especially of all three kids together. They grow up so fast! I can't believe how old Ryan is looking. Riley's hair is long enough to be braided - I can't believe that either. Hope you remember your friends out in Orange County and come see us once your kitchen is finished. We love you all!

What a fun day. We had plans to go there later on this month, but that has changed now that I have to take it easy. Oh well. Maybe we can go with you to Phil's, Ryan loves that place!
