This summer so far has been one of our best as a family. I made the goal that each day I would go somewhere or do something fun with the kids. I'm happy to say I've kept that goal (aside from yesterday when Riley threw up randomly and was just fine afterwards). We've gone to the beach, pool, library, movies, you name it together and it has been a blast. Along with this the kids have been really good about getting some reading and math work done each day. Hopefully we'll continue through the rest of the summer. Here are some fun pictures from our fun July 4th. This is one of my favorite holidays and I love to teach my kids about our wonderful country.
I wanted also to share with you this wonderful book a good friend gave to me for my birthday. It's called "How to Raise an American" by Myrna Blyth and Chriss Winston. It gives so many ideas and suggestions of how to teach our children to be patriotic and proud of their country and what you can do for each national holiday throughout the year. I think there is so much lacking today in our schools and at home about how to gain a deep love and appreciation for all that was sacrificed to bring about this nation. Enjoy!

that is so great that you're doing fun activities with the kids everyday. that probably explains why you never answer your house phone when i call.
thanks for the tip on the book. sounds like one for my collection. i completely agree with you regarding having a deep love for our country. seems like kids today take living in America for granted.
I'm going to check out the book - love your suggestion.
You're a better mom than me - I'm trying to do stuff with the kids as well but I know I haven't done something for them EVERY DAY!
Keep up the good work! :)
