Yesterday both of the boys came in and told me what they wanted to be when they grow up.
Ryan: Mom, I know what I want to be be when I grow up.
Mom: Oh, yeah? What?
Ryan: I want to be a scientist.
Mom: COOL! (This is where I became very proud and think I must be doing something right)
Ryan: Mom, what is a scientist?
Mom: (This is where I realized that I jumped the gun in my previous assumption) A scientist is someone who makes theories or guesses about certain things and then does experiments to see if he was right.
RYan: No, that's not what a scientist is. A scientist is someone who pours colored water into a glass of other colored water to watch it explode.
Mom: Well, I guess they do that too.
Jacob: Mom, I know what I want to be when I grow up.
Mom: Oh, yeah? What?
Jacob: A hairstylist!
Mom: (This is where I have visions of the future that are very scary and then I realize that Doug is choking on his dinner after hearing Jacob and I snap out of those scary visions) Why do you want to be a hairstylist, Jacob?
Jacob: Because I want to put color in people's hair and make it look beautiful. I think that would be cool.
Mom: Well, I guess that would be cool too.
Oh, the joys of motherhood.

That is so cute.
Ryan apparently picked the definition of scientist up from sharing time - Rachel did a fun game with them where they changed the water's color or made it "explode".
Hey at least they've picked true professions. I think if you asked Crew what he wanted to be when he grows up he'd reply, "Archie!"
