Crazy week.........

What a crazy week it was last week. I wanted so bad to update everbody on the blog but every minute was busy with something. Anyway, we got back from Washington and had to rush to get everything in before summer ended. We went to the pool, played with friends, and lots of relaxing. I knew my life would change come Monday, and boy did it.

Jacob started 1st grade on Monday. That was such a hard day. We're not used to doing everything so rushed in the morning, but he was excited. I walked him to his classroom with Ryan and Riley in tow and was teary eyed the whole time. I wanted to comfort Jacob and talk to him but Riley was so scared i was going to leave her that she kept crying and clinging to me the whole time. I finally had to go when I looked at the board and saw the directions from the teacher. The last one was "Say good-bye to Moms and Dads". I really was teary then and I had to just say kiss Jake and get out of there. I couldn't believe my son was going to be away from me for over 6 hours EVERY DAY! I wish I could say it got better by the end of the week, but it didn't. Jacob loves it and has a great teacher. I'm having him walk home with his friend Wyatt and his older sister and then I pick him up at their house. It beats waiting in the crazy traffic at the school and he LOVES it.

The boys also had their first soccer games on Saturday. Jacob had a great time but it seems like he has lost a little of his aggressive edge. He didn't go after the ball like he usually does but did a great job on defense. I was always a lot better on defense so maybe he takes after me. Who knows? His team lost 5-3 but he didn't seem to even notice who won or lost. Ryan's game was a different story. His team was pretty much slaughtered. They didn't even get to try for a goal. Ryan decided he would just stay in the goal to try to stop the team for kicking in there. He did make some saves but it was still pretty pathetic. The important thing is he had a great time and couldn't wait for his next game. I know I can wait for the next game! Really, the important thing is he had fun and maybe next year his team will be a little more skilled.

Anyway, that's about it for us. I didn't mean for it to be such a novel to read, but it's been awhile. I don't know if anybody is even reading my blog because there are NO comments! That's ok, I'm sure you're all very busy. Enjoy the end of your summer!

I'm sure the farm is the perfect place to vacation with two boys...at least I feel my two would fit right in. Mine are totally boys...rough, dirty all the time, peeing outdoors (had to include that) anyways...I enjoy keeping up on things with you guys.
