A couple weekends ago we were having a horrible heat wave. HOT and MUGGY! It was awful. On Saturday, we went to a birthday party and it was 116 degrees! We drove home and it was just as hot. GROSS! All of the sudden the sky got really dark and a big rain and thunderstorm started. It was so cool! Doug and I sat on the front porch watching it rain when all of the sudden the boys stormed out the front door wearing their bathing suits. They had a total blast playing the rain and gutters. Riley even got into it. We finally had to have them come in when the lightning started to get a little closer. It was fun to watch the lightning and have the kids go, "OOOOOOOOOOOOOH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!" I'm putting some pictures up of the kids playing in the rain.
We've had a busy couple of weeks. We've been working on the house with taking out all the base boards downstairs and putting in new, taller ones. It's looking really nice. Doug does a little bit every night after work. He also installed a house fan which will help to cool off the house without using the A/C now that the weather is a lot cooler and it is PERFECT! The kids love to play outside and we finally don't have to have the A/C on all night and day.
We're getting things ready this week to go to Washington to visit Doug's family for about a week and a half. The kids are so excited to go to the farm and go to the waterslide park in town. Before we leave Saturday afternoon, Friday we're going to an Angel's game which should be lots of fun. Jacob is bringing his friend Wyatt and Ryan chose to stay at his friend's birthday party and stay the night with him. It should be fun for all. I'm sure we'll have pictures to share. Hope you all are having a great summer! Keep in touch.
