Happy Belated 4th!

I hope all of you had a great 4th of July yesterday. We celebrated by having a few families over from the ward to bbq, kids play on the waterslide, and watch the fireworks show. Since we don't have any houses or anything behind our house, we get a great view of the firework shows in town. The kids had a great time playing with their friends and watching the fireworks. As far as our OWN kids, it wasn't so great. This last week has been one of the toughest with our kids. Riley started being sick Thursday night and is STILL throwing up today. Doug took her to Children's Hospital in San Diego on Sunday morning because she had literally thrown up for 12+ hours 2-4 times/hour. She was wiped out. I was getting nervous about dehydration and the nurse on call told us to take her in. They gave her some fluids and she was sick again when she got home. Anyway, after another visit to the doctor today, they said it could last 7-10 days and to just "keep doing what you're doing". She received a blessing tonight from Doug and our friend Ryan. Thanks, Ryan! I feel comfort now that we're on the mend of it.

Now for Ryan! He started with throwing up on Saturday afternoon all over our new couch! He didn't stop till the next morning and felt good until yesterday when we were having our bbq. It started again with him too. Imagine us trying to entertain and visit with our friends all the while cleaning up vomit, doing laundry from cleaning it up, comforting kids, etc. I hope our friends weren't uncomfortable because we were very glad to have them. Anyway, Ryan is totally great today and I think is done with it all. He went to a play group today and had a great time.

I don't even want to see our electric and gas bill next month. With the a/c on and all the laundry I've done (at least 3 loads a day), it will be CRAZY! Donations, anyone?!! Anyway, I'm excited to get my family back to normal and get back to our normal schedule. We've been doing really well doing our summer school program in the morning and getting chores done before playing. Last week that all went to pot. Hopefully we can get back to it by next week. My dad and grandma came for a couple days this weekend and got to visit with us while we were in the midst of all the sickness, but it was nice to visit with them. I was sick on Sunday but felt better by MOnday so Doug has been the anchor for all of us this last weekend. Love you, Doug!

Hope you had a great holiday! Happy Birthday America!
