What an inspiring and emotional day. My sister Briana was down to speak at our Stake Youth Conference and I went down to listen to one of her sessions. She did a fabulous job and I was really touched listening to her speak and see her really bringing the Spirit and giving a great message to the youth. This afternoon we then all went up to Riverside to a picnic/fundraiser for a family that I knew from high school/college days. The husband was in a motorcycle accident and broke his neck. He is now a quadrapalegic and their friends and family were having this picnic and auction to help raise money for them. It was neat to hear both him and his wife speak to all the people gathered there before he to go back to the rehab hospital. It just made me realize how blessed I am and how wonderful the Gospel is to help this family keep an eternal perspective and find joy in their lives.
Ryan went to a Star Wars birthday party and had a blast. He got to wear his Darth Vader cape, mask, and lightsaber. Jacob had a tball game and he'll tell you he got 3 outs and had 2 big hits. Riley tagged along with all of us and was her little cute self. Oh, we will be getting a dog in the next couple of days from our neighbor. His name is Bandit and is mix of German Shepherd and Husky, they think. It's a very well behaved dog and is great with kids. Our neighbor has 5 dogs because they've rescued a couple but they can't handle that many in their new house. The kids are very excited and Doug seems to be too.
